July 12, 2010
An article published in IANS, talks about Sandhya Dhure, an Indian patient who was diagnosed with large uterine fibroids five years ago.  She was too scared to have her uterus removed, so was treated with medication all these years.

The ExAblate treatment being introduced at Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai, India, gave Sandhya Dhure new hope.  Her treatment lasted two hours.  Dhure states in the article that there were "no deep cuts, no ugly post-operative scars, no pain whatsoever, and no anaesthesia".  She added in the article that 'It is a month since the procedure, and I can see the results already - no excessive bleeding or post-procedure pains and even the bloating on my stomach is gone".
